Firefighters Credit Sprinkler System With Snuffing Porter Motel Fire.

Initial reports stated a victim was trapped on February 1, 2021. Units arrived to find smoke and after entering the room where the fire was said to be found the Fire Sprinkler System had already extinguished it. The female in the room was uninjured. According to Porter Fire Chief Carter Johnson, strict fire regulations in Montgomery County were responsible for the minimal damage this morning. Years ago, Montgomery County Fire Marshal Jimmy Williams started upgrading fire regulations in the county. One of those he pushed for and got was Fire Sprinkler Systems in all commercial buildings.
